Skrabanek Plays Dance Class for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

Todd Skrabanek, in a last minute sub role, played a dance class for the Alvin Ailey dance troupe which served as the warm up for their Wednesday Feb. 15 performance at the Fox Theatre.  Class was led by a formal Atlanta Ballet dancer, who directed the dancers in fundamental steps and leaps in a variety of tempi and beat patterns.  Skrabanek played Chopin, Strauss, Brahms and improvised as per the requirements of the exercises.  He said later, “Dancers like their music in 8 measure phrases! It was an honor to play for these fabulously talented and athletic performers.”
